Indications:

Penicillin V potassium tablet is an oral antibiotic, has a strong bactericidal effect, belongs to the penicillin family of common drugs. By destroying the shell structure of bacteria, prevent their growth and reproduction, especially against the active period of pathogenic bacteria effective.
The drug mainly treats infections caused by certain bacteria, such as pneumonia caused by streptococcus, and skin infections caused by staphylococcus.

Contra-indications:

Penicillin skin test positive reaction is contraindicated.
Contraindicated in patients with any penicillin allergy.
Contraindicated in patients with infectious mononucleosis.

Adverse Effects:

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, and sometimes pain in the mouth or tongue. Skin allergies can include rashes, wind bumps, and in severe cases, swelling of the throat (larynx edema), fever, or an increase in certain white blood cells in the blood.

Drug Interactions:

Chloramphenicol, erythromycin, tetracycline, sulfonamides and other antibacterial drugs can interfere with the bactericidal activity of penicillin, so it is not suitable to be used with penicillin, especially in the treatment of bacterial meningitis or serious infections requiring rapid sterilization.

Precautions & Warning:

During medication, attention should be paid to monitoring allergic reactions, and emergency medicines for severe allergic reactions should be prepared for emergency rescue.
Long-term users of this product should have regular renal function and blood routine tests. Serum potassium should be tested regularly in large doses.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Use with caution for pregnant and lactating women.
